  attended the friday sesson of the 2024 summer convention.. july 5, 2024 summer convention crowd photo; they invited quite a lot of empty chairs.. .

  the facility usually has 5500-6500. they spun it saying that fewer congregations were assigned.

  there were 6 of the smaller, more distant sections blocked off with tarps to lessen cleaning, which i understand.

  it says it may not be granted at the level the wts applied for partly based on rejecting unarmed alternative service rather than being "drafted.

  Would there, or would there not be, lawsuits if they took away the blood transfusion ban?

  i have heard or read, many times by many exjw's, that the org does not remove the blood transfusion ban because it would be crippled by the resulting lawsuits the minute that "new light" was made official.i am not a lawyer, but i would like to know what legal opinion lawyers have on that.on what legal basis would there be a lawsuit?

  "i am suing the watchtower because my relative died because of a rule they had but no longer have"?am i missing something?.

  but the entire congregation is not to be informed or mark the person.

  the only repercussions are that the individual who is aware of it can decide to "mark" them and not go to the local club or bar with the individual, but they are still obligated to go door to door in the ministry with them, and even speak to them at the kn as if nothing is wrong and not feel obligated to tell anyone else?

  this is crazy.. so they are also basically saying that a person can carry on a romantic (but none sexual) relationship with an unbeliever and still go out in service and participate in meetings?

  Something I keep thinking about .

  Wasnt there some ''big announcement" which turned out to be a big nothing burger in 2005? In changes to not using that term "disfellowshipped"??

  When someone was kicked out if the Borg starting in 2005?? It was just announced that so & so is ""no longer a jw"". But they wouldn't say ""disfellowshipped "" from 2005 onward??

  I dont think I've ever heard someone being announced as ""disfellowshipped" from the platform since back then.

  You guessed it. Probably legal ramifications.
